Our client is an established mechanical construction and sheet metal fabrication company with more than 70 years of industry experience. The company operates a modern fabrication facility producing custom metal components and serves mechanical contractors, general contractors, corporations, and institutions throughout the region.

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Project Manager to oversee projects from initial planning through completion. This role will manage schedules, budgets, contracts, project coordination, quality, safety, and client relationships while working closely with contractors, design professionals, employees, and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Develop project scopes, work descriptions, material requirements, schedules, and budgets
• Schedule and coordinate project activities to meet milestones and deadlines
• Prepare budget estimates and communicate project costs and financial progress
• Monitor project expenses and address unexpected cost issues
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Manage contracts, revisions, additions, and contractual obligations
• Coordinate with clients, supervisors, contractors, and design professionals to resolve project issues
• Respond to project delays, weather disruptions, emergencies, and other unforeseen challenges
• Monitor quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements
• Build strong working relationships with owners, contractors, designers, supervisors, and field personnel
• Manage multiple projects and priorities throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of construction leadership or project management experience
• Mechanical construction or related industry experience preferred
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, architectural plans, and construction documents
• Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contracts
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to work in-person in Frederick, Maryland

Preferred Experience

• Mechanical construction project management
• Sheet metal fabrication or HVAC-related construction
• Experience coordinating contractors, tradespeople, and design professionals
• Experience managing construction budgets and project costs
• Experience working with custom fabrication and project-based manufacturing
