Your Role The Senior Merchandise Planner is a leader within the Planning organization. The ability to influence both peers and managers is critical for success in this role. Senior planners are accountable for analysis of in‑season business and the development of future financial strategies that support financial goals. Through their analysis and development of financial strategies, the Senior Planner collaborates with Merchandising, Production, Deployment and Demand Planning. Your Impact Drives and owns the pre‑season planning – connecting statistical analysis, assortment architecture, and merchant vision to create a pre‑season view of a merchandise plan. Seasonal planning – develops seasonal architecture aligned with brand strategies and calendars, incorporating distortions, targets, and relationships of regular to promotion sales sensitivities and demand. Assortment architecture – balances assortment by driving top‑line sales and profit growth, focusing on key product, while incubating new product assortment. Develops weekly sales, markdown and receipt plans at the style level based on trend and historical performance. Inventory management – manages floorset/monthly receipts to approved levels by scrutinizing buys and focusing on optimal inventory turn, considering seasonal sales curves and receipt flow to facilitate floorset set‑up. Manages the critical assessment and hindsight of merchandise strategy to inform future planning and execution activities. Executes key Monday morning reporting used by cross‑functional teams to analyze the business. Minimum Salary: $99,400.00 Maximum Salary: $134,715.00 Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Operations or Statistics. Advanced degree in quantitative analysis, finance or business administration preferred. 7+ years of retail merchandise planning, inventory management, financial planning or financial analysis experience. Management experience is a plus. Flexible and able to perform in a very fast‑paced, changing environment. Builds collaborative partnerships cross‑functionally and resolves conflict productively. Business acumen: understands and executes against business strategy. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently but knows when to request a partner in key decision‑making situations. Ability to synthesize large quantities of data and develop recommendations to drive business decisions. Communicates to all levels with a clear, concise point of view, both verbally and in writing.
