About ReSpark

ReSpark is a venture-backed software company formed through the merger of GreenSpark Software and ReMatter. We serve more than 1,500 metal recycling facilities worldwide, helping operators manage transactions, inventory, yard operations, and the movement of metal from purchase through sale. We are building an AI-first operations platform for an industry that has long lacked modern software.

The Role

We're looking for someone who wants to own both the financial details of running a business and the analysis behind its biggest decisions.

You will manage the connection between signed contracts, subscriptions, invoices, collections, and revenue reporting. You will also build cash forecasts, prepare board and investor materials, support financing processes, evaluate acquisition targets, and help integrate businesses after they join ReSpark.

The operating work is the foundation of this role and will take up the larger share of your time, especially in year one. Your familiarity with the source data is what will make your forecasts, diligence, and reporting credible.

This role reports to the CEO, works closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, and partners with our outside accounting firm. It is based in New York and has no direct reports initially. A key first-year goal is to build and document processes that can support a team as the business grows.

What You'll Own

Billing, revenue, and accounts receivable

• Set up subscriptions from signed order forms within five business days of a deal closing; prepare renewals and scheduled price changes on time.
• Maintain accurate customer accounts, product and price records, payment methods, and invoices.
• Reconcile contracts against billing monthly, investigate differences, and produce a reliable revenue roll.
• Own collections, payment issues, and the billing inbox. Communicate clearly and promptly with customers about invoices, renewals, disputes, and payment questions.
• Work with our outside accounting firm on the monthly close, revenue recognition, and audit readiness.

Cash planning and external reporting

• Maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast based on actual receivables and expected payments.
• Own the operating budget, explain variances, and model the cash impact of hiring, acquisitions, and integration.
• Prepare financial materials for the board, investors, and lenders, including consistent ARR, cash, and KPI reporting.
• Support debt and equity financing with data rooms, historical financials, and diligence responses.

Acquisitions, integration, and partnerships

• Analyze acquisition targets, including revenue quality, retention, churn, customer concentration, pricing, and the difference between recurring and one-time revenue.
• Compare a target's contracts with its billing records and identify where the numbers disagree.
• Build deal models and coordinate financial diligence with outside advisers.
• Help execute post-close financial integration, including billing migration, banking, spending, vendors, and reporting.
• Model partnership economics, establish payout and reconciliation processes, and track performance against agreements.

What We're Looking For

• 2–4 years of experience across strategic finance, business operations, FP&A, corporate development, or transaction advisory, including at least one year working inside an operating company.
• Hands-on exposure to subscription billing, ideally Stripe. You understand how subscriptions, changes, renewals, and collections work beyond what appears in a report.
• Experience building a cash forecast or operating model used to make decisions.
• Experience preparing financial materials for an external audience, such as a board, lender, investor, or transaction counterparty.
• Some exposure to buy-side diligence or analytical work with incomplete information and tight deadlines.
• Willingness to own accounts receivable and customer billing communications directly.
• Strong spreadsheet skills, comfort working with CRM data, and the ability to query and verify data using SQL or SOQL.
• Clear writing, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to move between detailed operating work and leadership-level analysis.

Experience with multiple entities, post-merger integration, or industrial businesses is a plus. Scrap or recycling experience is not required.

How You'll Use AI

We expect you to use AI tools in practical, verifiable ways: working with connected business systems, reviewing and adjusting Python-based data workflows, and building spreadsheets that trace back to source records. You should be comfortable checking outputs, documenting changes, and confirming the numbers before they are used.

What Success Looks Like in Year One

Contracts, subscriptions, invoices, and revenue reporting reconcile each month. New deals and renewals are billed on time. Leadership uses your weekly cash forecast to make decisions. Board, lender, and investor materials are consistent and ready when needed. You support at least one acquisition or strategic alternative from diligence through the financial integration plan, and leave behind documented processes that someone else can follow.

Compensation

Base salary: $100,000–$120,000, plus a performance bonus, early-stage equity, and benefits. The final offer within the range will depend on experience. xhyhwjd
