ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse is now available. This role involves providing high-quality critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment, focusing on their complex needs and recovery. The contract length for this position is 20 weeks, with night shifts scheduled as 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
Utilize advanced equipment and technology to monitor and support patient health.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using EPIC charting.
Participate in patient and family education regarding care plans and health management.
Perform necessary interventions for a range of patient diagnoses including ICU, stroke, renal failure, myocardial infarction, respiratory failure, pneumonia, post-cardiac arrest, diabetic ketoacidosis, and surgical ICU cases.

Qualifications

Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license.
2+ years of experience in an ICU setting is required.
Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
Ability to float within the ICU specialty/acuity as required.
Experience with specialized equipment such as ceiling lifts, emergency carts, and critical care carts is preferred.

Working Conditions

This role requires availability for every third weekend. There is no on-call requirement. A commitment to teamwork, communication, and professional development is essential.
