Job Title: Weld Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Job Description

Join our dynamic team in the joist shop where you will play a vital role in operating welding machines and assembling joists. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, focusing on structural steel fabrication for bridge projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate weld machines and ensure they are functioning correctly.
• Monitor and maintain machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Work collaboratively in an assembly line to produce joists.
• Read and interpret schematics for joist assembly.
• Participate in training to learn machinery operation and welding techniques.
• Operate laser machines or other equipment as needed.
• Handle materials and perform cleaning and sweeping tasks as necessary.
• Conduct touch-up painting (standard, no spray paint).

Essential Skills

• Experience in operating weld machines.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Reliability and strong attendance record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in MIG, TIG, or Stick welding is a significant advantage.
• No formal certifications required, but trade experience or schooling is beneficial.
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial atmosphere with loud noises and dirty conditions.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing plant focused on fabricating structural steel for bridge work. The environment can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, with loud noises and dirty conditions typical of a heavy industrial setting. Expect to work on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday to Friday with mandatory Saturdays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Point of Rocks, MD.

The pay range for this position is $21.17 - $24.17/hr.
