Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical ICU (MSICU) position in Plano, TX, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Critical Care Unit with 36 CCU beds and 30 Burn Trauma ICU beds
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• Unit is staffed with a supervisor on every shift and PCTs
• Procedures performed include central line insertions, arterial line insertions, thoracotomies, bedside tracheostomies, and chest tube insertions
• Documentation system: Meditech (experience preferred)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units as needed

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for ICU RNs
• Minimum 2 years of hospital and ICU specialty experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Meditech EMR experience is preferred; TNCC, CCRN, and TCRN certifications are also preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
• RN scrub color: Royal Blue
• Dress code includes no artificial, gel, or next-gen nails; hair must be neat with no extreme styles or colors and pulled back if shoulder-length or longer; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited; tattoos should be covered whenever possible
