Position Title: Assistant Nurse Manager - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit. This leadership role partners with the Nurse Manager to ensure exceptional patient care, operational excellence, staff development, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong critical care background, demonstrated nursing leadership experience, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nurse Manager in daily clinical and operational oversight of the ICU.
• Coordinate staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation to ensure safe, quality patient care.
• Assist with performance management, staff mentoring, coaching, and professional development.
• Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Support employee engagement, retention, and departmental goals.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and participate in process improvement projects.
• Serve as a leadership resource for nursing staff and clinical teams.
• Assist in budgetary and operational planning activities.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License or eligibility for licensure.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of direct ICU experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of Hospital Nurse Leadership experience required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare-related field preferred.
• ACLS Certification preferred.
• NIHSS Certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of hospital nursing leadership experience.
• Neuro, telemetry, or critical care leadership experience preferred.
