Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit MD, Clinton 07/09/2026 Contract Active Job Description Registered Nurse specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) and Special Care Nursery to provide comprehensive care for newborns requiring specialized medical attention. This role focuses on maintaining cardiopulmonary, neurologic, metabolic, and thermal stability, assisting with procedures, and managing various respiratory support systems. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to newborns in a Level II Special Care Nursery, ensuring stability of cardiopulmonary, neurologic, metabolic, and thermal functions. Monitor patients independently or in conjunction with physicians. Assist with specialized procedures, including lumbar punctures and endotracheal resuscitation of newborns 32 weeks or greater. Initiate, modify, or discontinue treatments according to established protocols and physician orders. Manage respiratory support via High Flow O2, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and Mechanical Ventilation. Administer IV antibiotics and manage central lines. Perform peripheral IV insertions and lab draws. Provide increased knowledge and care for apnea and bradycardia related to pre‑term infants. Stabilize newborns less than 32 weeks and prepare them for transport to a Level III facility. Manage thermoregulation in premature and full‑term infants, including passive cooling. Perform Neonatal Resuscitation. Schedule / Shift 3x12 hour shifts (1900-0700) Required Qualifications Successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms. Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment. Every other weekend required. Every other holiday required. Experience 2 years of experience required. NICU II experience required. CPAP experience required. Previous travel assignment experience.
