About This Role

The Assistant Teacher plays a vital role in creating a nurturing environment for children and supporting teachers and directors. Effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education are essential. This role involves observing and documenting children's progress, implementing developmentally appropriate activities, and fostering positive relationships with parents and staff. Prior experience in early childcare is desirable.

What You'll Do

• Engage children in curricula activities and promote participation.
• Manage classroom materials, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Regularly communicate with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
• Model self-help and good hygiene to encourage healthy habits.
• Ease the transition from home to the child care center.
• Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance skills and quality.

Requirements

• Must obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential by December 2019.
• High energy levels are necessary.
• Collaborative working skills are essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic computer proficiency, are required.
• A thorough understanding of child development principles is necessary.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification is mandatory.
• A clean background check is required.
