Founding Mid-Market Account Executive (Equity)

About the RoleThis is the first dedicated sales hire at a seed-stage B2B SaaS company building the intelligence layer for value engineering and outcome-based selling. Every deal closed to date has been led by the CEO — your mandate is to take the mid-market sales motion from founder-led to repeatable. This is the most important go-to-market hire being made right now, and it comes with meaningful equity.The CEO will continue leading larger strategic deals and co-selling on enterprise accounts. You own the mid-market motion end-to-end: sourcing pipeline, running full-cycle deals, closing, and partnering on expansion.What You'll DoBuild your own pipeline. There is no SDR team. You will build a repeatable outbound motion targeting the ICP — Series C–E SaaS companies with emerging or scaling value engineering functions. You'll prospect, network, run events, and execute creative channel plays to generate your own meetings.Run full-cycle mid-market deals. Own the sales cycle from first meeting through signed contract. Run discovery that uncovers real pain, multi-thread across buying committees of 5–10 stakeholders, position with economic buyers (typically the CRO), navigate procurement, and close.Engage sophisticated buyers. Your buyers are Heads of Value Engineering, VPs of Sales, and CROs at scaling SaaS companies. They are experienced buyers who will immediately sense whether you've done this work yourself or are just performing it.Partner on expansion. Stay involved post-close for upsell and expansion conversations. You are incentivized on expansion revenue and are expected to proactively identify growth opportunities within your accounts.What We're Looking ForProven ability to own an end-to-end mid-market SaaS sales process — sourcing, qualifying, negotiating, and closing deals independentlyExperience selling to revenue or go-to-market leaders (CROs, VPs of Sales, Heads of Value Engineering)Ability to build, present, and defend business cases and ROI analyses — value-based selling is core to this product and this roleStrong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with executives and buying committeesSelf-starter mentality — if you need leads handed to you, this role is not the right fitBackground at companies such as Salesforce, Google, Accenture, Boston Consulting Group, or Deloitte is a strong signalCompensation & BenefitsOTE: $200,000–$270,000 (base + variable), paid in USDEquity: 0.3–1.0% (meaningful founding-team equity)Full-time, permanent roleLocationOn-site in San Francisco, CA.
