Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU

Location

Reno, NV | Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12 shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
• Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems within an 8-bed Medical ICU setting, maintaining individualized patient outcomes across the full episode of care
• Coordinate care with intensivists, critical care technicians, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and optimal patient outcomes
• Demonstrate cognitive and psychosocial competency appropriate to the patient population served, in alignment with unit and department age-specific competency standards
• Float to other areas of the organization as needed, up to individual competency level
• May be required to work major holidays; travelers are expected to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Eve + Day counts as 1 holiday)

Required Qualifications

• Active Nevada RN license required prior to start date
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required to be considered
• No on-call requirements for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with chest pain accredited center protocols and patient transfer coordination
• Experience working with a dedicated intensivist team in a critical care environment
