Human Resources Compliance Manager

The HR Compliance Manager oversees HR-1’s HR compliance, ensuring alignment with employment laws and HR-1 customer business objectives while minimizing legal risk. This role works with HR-1’s customers and business leaders to address issues promptly. Position Summary Policy Review and Implementation: Creating, updating, and enforcing company guidelines to ensure alignment with labor laws and corporate objectives. Staying informed of federal, state, and local employment laws, including minimum wage, pay transparency, time off and other employment requirements. Maintain understanding of current and proposed legislation as well as agency enforcement to recommend policy and procedure updates for ongoing compliance with legal requirements. Directly handle state and federal agency complaints such as wage and hour and civil rights matters. Gather information from HR-1 systems as well as HR-1 customer leadership to draft responses to respective agencies on those complaints. Additional Responsibilities Conduct research on state, local, and federal laws, as directed by Compliance Leadership. Produce and maintain reports and HR-related data for decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. 5 years HR compliance experience particularly with regulatory agencies i.e. Department of Labor, the EEOC, and state unemployment offices Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws Attention to detail and capable working with complexity as well as competing prioritization.
