About the Role:
Join HARLEM FAMILY SERVICES INC as a Child and Family Counselor in the vibrant heart of NYC, NY. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families through compassionate support and guidance.
Job Duties:
- Provide counseling and support to children and families, adolescents and young adults facing various challenges.
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs and goals of clients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops.
- Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Stay updated on best practices and therapeutic techniques.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Valid state licensure as a counselor or therapist.
- Experience working with children and families in a clinical setting.
- Spanish/French speaking a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Compassionate with cultural humility.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusivity in service delivery.
