The Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) opened in the Fall of 2023. Within its three flexible and intimate performance spaces, PAC NYC produces and presents multiple projects in theatre, dance, music and chamber opera. The PAC is seeking a full-time Production Manager. This position reports to the Director of Production ("DoP"), and works alongside an Associate Director of Production, Technical Director, Associate Production Manager, Associate Technical Director, and a Production Payroll Specialist/Administration Manager. The Production Manager will assist the DoP in the supervision of other production departments, including Wardrobe, Lighting, Sound, Projections, Scenery, Rigging and Props.

The PM assists in the planning, advancing, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation of all technical requirements for productions and will be assigned the lead Production Manager role on multiple PAC projects each season both in the theaters and on the Lobby Stage. When leading a project or in the absence of the DoP, the PM supervises production staff and labor. As necessary, the PM coordinates with other PAC departments (administrative, artistic, production, facilities and front of house) and show contractors to ensure smooth production of all PAC produced projects and presentations as well as rentals, and special events.

The PM must demonstrate a personal passion for, as well as a track record of advancing inclusive, anti-racist goals in their career. The PM must be a strategic thinker, creative problem solver and innovative thinker. The ideal candidate will be excited to support the expansive vision of The PAC and make best use of its uniquely flexible facility.

The PAC produces and present a mix of programming, including Theatre, Opera, Dance, Music, and Art Installations, along side rental programming, with PM leading projects in a variety of disciplines.

Your key responsibilities:

• As part of the Production Management team, lead, plan, develop and implement all aspects of the production process.
• As part of the Production Management team lead staff for all programming and events in a thoughtful, steady, and collaborative manner in order to bring the creative vision to life for each production, event or rental while ensuring safety and efficiency, with all projects on schedule and on budget.
• In collaboration with the DoP, execute, supervise, manage, and/or assign all production work ensuring staffing and work assignments meet the needs of all productions and performances.
• Together with the production and artistic team assist in scheduling and logistics for spaces throughout The PAC.
• Assist DoP in creation and development of production budgets and schedules for all PAC-presented and produced performances, events and programs.
• As assigned, advance productions and review contracts and riders to ensure efficient and effective use of labor, materials, and other resources.
• Work with organizations renting PAC, including their designated production teams and other staff as appropriate, to ensure that rental events are well supported and successful.
• As assigned, secure and plan all production related transportation and load in logistics. When required, travel to other venues to facilitate the smooth transfer of shows to The PAC.
• Collaborate with The PAC artistic team and external artists, designers, and producers to help them realize the most creative and highest quality work specifically created for The PAC's unique space(s).
• Assist DoP in the annual institutional and production budgeting process as well as reforecasting throughout each fiscal year.
• Maintain and continually update standards, procedures, and practices.
• Foster a work environment that is safe, respectful, supportive and that embodies the values of equity and inclusion.
• Foster the continued development and goodwill of The PAC productions, through outreach and cultivating relationships with other industry leaders, vendors, and producers. When required, represent The PAC at conferences and external events.

What it takes to be successful in the role:

• At least 5-7 years of experience in the field of production who can demonstrate experience in one or more of these areas below:
• Experience in the management of union personnel
• Professional experience in New York City, and/or collaboration with New York City institutions
• Experience creating operating paradigms, systems, processes, and procedures for a new facility, organization or performance space.
• Proven leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to build, lead and manage a team. Analytic and empathetic problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills.
• Excellent communication and intermediary skills in working with a diverse group of internal and external constituencies.
• A commitment to anti-racism, inclusion, equity and accessibility.
• Ability to read and interpret light plots, stage plans, and related technical documents.
• Demonstrated ability to conceive, strategize, manage, and prioritize between multiple projects, with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent budgeting and scheduling skills.
• Able to work nights and weekends in support of performance and event schedules.

Our ideal candidate will also possess:

• In-depth, hands-on experience and knowledge of modern stage technology and procedures including rigging, sound, recording, video, lighting, stage automation systems, video streaming and broadcasting standards and equipment.
• A thorough working knowledge of multiple scales and forms of performance: including opera, theater, dance, music, and special events.
• Knowledge of theatrical and OSHA safety regulations and practices.

Proficiency with various software programs including MS Office Suite, Dropbox, Production and Venue Management Software, Payroll Software, Vectorworks, and AutoCAD.

Annual salary will range is $105,000 and $115,000 plus full benefits. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life, accidental death and dismemberment and disability benefits, and self-insured dental, vision and health care and dependent day care flexible spending accounts. Full time employees are also eligible for paid time off and 401K enrollment with employer match.
