ALTORA Fitness & Performance Club is looking for an experienced, energetic, and community-minded CrossFit / Functional Fitness Coach to join our growing team in Carmel, NY.

We are looking for a coach who can confidently lead group classes while making every member feel supported—whether they are an experienced athlete or walking into a gym and training for the very first time.

A big part of our community includes members who are new to fitness. The right coach should be patient, approachable, and comfortable teaching foundational movements, explaining exercises clearly, providing appropriate modifications, and helping beginners build confidence in the gym.

Responsibilities include:

• Coaching CrossFit, functional fitness, and strength & conditioning classes
• Coaching members ranging from complete beginners to experienced athletes
• Teaching foundational movements to people who may be exercising for the first time
• Demonstrating and explaining movements clearly and patiently
• Providing appropriate scaling and modifications based on ability and experience
• Creating a welcoming environment where new members feel comfortable asking questions and learning
• Maintaining a safe, organized, and motivating class environment
• Building relationships with members and contributing to a strong community
• Helping members improve technique, confidence, strength, and overall performance
• Supporting gym events, challenges, and community initiatives when available
• Maintaining professionalism, punctuality, and strong communication with the ALTORA team

Preferred qualifications:

• CrossFit Level 1 certification or higher preferred
• Previous group coaching experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of functional fitness, strength training, and movement mechanics
• Ability to confidently coach and modify workouts for beginners
• CPR/AED certification preferred
• Positive, patient, and approachable personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable coaching athletes of different ages, abilities, and experience levels
• Reliable, coachable, and interested in continued professional development

ALTORA is a growing facility, and we are looking for coaches who want to become part of our community and grow with us. Opportunities may include additional classes, personal training, specialty programs, and events as the gym continues to expand.

This is a part-time position with weekday and/or weekend availability. Early morning availability is a plus.
