Security Officer (Full Time) - Candidates must be available to work full-time overnight hours from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. As a Security Officer , you’d be part of a well‑trained, cohesive team that provides 24/7 protection for co‑workers and guests at our buildings and at special events. Your mission? To protect Disney property and safeguard our people! Every day as a Security Officer is different! Depending on your shift, on any given day you might: Greet visitors, check company IDs, and provide temporary IDs at building entrances Evaluate and screen the audience line at live TV shows Be a security presence at movie premiers, live performances, events, or private parties Patrol hallways and building perimeters to spot safety issues or irregularities Fill out the logbook precisely and completely Answer questions asked by visitors and employees in a friendly, professional way Use your know‑how and training to diffuse a tense situation Respond to medical or fire incidents, and work directly with local first responders Assist private security details brought by celebrities, sports stars, politicians and visiting dignitaries – even the President has been known to stop by Control messenger flow and package delivery Utilize technology to report and document incidents and manage information flow Perform walk‑through evaluation at off‑site events Here’s what you will need to be successful in the job: 1 year of corporate security, law enforcement or military experience Excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English, and strong command of basic English grammar Ability to make quick decisions using your training and common sense The knack for talking to people in a friendly way that gets results A “team” orientation and willingness to collaborate Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job and be outside in all weather; and Flexible workdays/hours (this is a “shift work” role) and ability to work some overtime It would be a plus if you also have these skills: Valid Security Guard license issued by your state Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Experience working under pressure Ability to take command and diplomatically control difficult situations Education is important to us, here is what we are looking for: High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate degree or higher preferred Some of the perks we offer include: Taking part in ongoing learning on subjects such as CPR, Imminent Threat Assessment and First Aid training. The hiring range for this position in New York is $42,600.00 to $57,000.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
