Production Bread Baker

Bowery Bakeries
Bowery is hiring bakers for our line that produces high quality sandwich breads, rolls, and buns. We are currently delivering 10 products and planning for further expansion. Hours are 4am-noon or 6am-2pm.
Our ideal team member should have at least one year of experience in a commercial bakery, mixing and shaping yeasted bread doughs.
You should consider this position if you are currently:
- working in a small bakery, and are ready to take the next step in your career
- working at a supermarket in-store bakery and would like to up your game, get creative, and eliminate the chaos
- working in an industrial bakery and are ready for a refreshing change of scenery and improvement in product quality
- generally a hard-working, talented professional baker who likes to work with others in an open and welcoming environment, and make products you would be proud to have your friends eat.
Primary responsibilities include:
- daily production: scaling, mixing, shaping, and baking
- following detailed formulas and processes
- maintaining sourdough starters, poolishes, levains, etc.
- maintaining the highest level of quality standards
- cleaning, organizing, staging, and other tasks as required
This position requires you to be able to lift 50lbs, be on your feet for long periods of time, and adhere to production schedules. Our small team works six days a week, so weekend shifts will be required.
