Interior Designer

Job Summary An innovative leader responsible for the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program, translating client needs into actionable design concepts, conducting in‑home consultations, and strengthening sales teams with design expertise. Key Responsibilities Promote the In‑Home Design program and present customized portfolio presentations to achieve or exceed store and individual design sales goals. Schedule and conduct in‑home consultations to understand client needs, preferences, and vision. Partner with Store and Sales Managers to coach, train, and support sales teams in design culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, and performance. Create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and décor, translating the client’s lifestyle, taste, and budget. Ensure proper execution of existing and new systems, administrative procedures, and special projects; support management with weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings. Uphold brand visual standards and maintain cleanliness in employee and customer areas. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Experience: 2‑3 years in sales or interior design with a residential emphasis. Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office365, computer‑aided design programs, financial understanding, interpersonal communication, analytical abilities, goal orientation, team management, and customer service. Other: Ability to work the schedule dictated by business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; Valid driver’s license. Preferred Requirements Design certification. Advanced interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills; business acumen; entrepreneurial spirit; experience building effective relationships. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50pounds. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to stand for long periods of time; use of repetitive hand motions; hearing and listening; sit, walk, bend, and stoop as needed. Subject to indoor environmental conditions; must pass background and drug screen. Pay and Hours Training: $22per hour for 2 weeks (no commission). After training, average earning potential $75,000–$105,000+ (inclusive of base, bonus, and commission). 40weekly hours.
