Trading Specialist

Join a small, high-performing engineering group supporting global derivatives trading production environments. You’ll be a hands‑on Trading production support engineer partnering with product teams and driving an engineering backlog focused on stability, resilience, and tech‑debt reduction. Expect a fast‑paced front‑office setting, tight collaboration with traders and developers, and real impact on mission‑critical systems. What you’ll do Own end-to-end critical trading workflows , proactively improving stability, resiliency, and observability in partnership with delivery and infrastructure teams. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across development, support, and technical business users with a strong incident‑command mindset. Act as a subject matter expert for trading systems initiatives, guiding standards and best practices. Support scalable algorithmic trading technology in a compliant, auditable way; exposure to Algo regulation, audit, compliance, and RTS 6 is a plus. Participate in a global on‑call rota to ensure continuous trading operations. Turn quick production fixes into robust, automated, and scalable solutions. Required industry knowledge Understanding of all major global futures exchanges and exchange‑traded derivatives lifecycle. 6+ years in Commodity Trading and/or Capital Markets/Investment Banking environments . Minimum 3 years with real‑time market data distribution platforms , feed handlers, and enterprise consolidated feeds. Minimum 8 years with time‑series analytic frameworks (e.g., kdb, shakti or similar). Key skills and experience 6+ years of front‑office application support and vendor management. Proven in application deployment best practices, CI/CD, and change management in regulated environments. Rapid incident response and post‑incident hardening; strong problem solving with complex datasets. Solid understanding of trading lifecycle: order capture/execution, allocation, settlement, and compliance. Strong scripting and programming: Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL (or similar). 3+ years of FIX engineering experience, including certification with exchanges and vendors. Experience with messaging systems and debugging network protocols (TCP, multicast); multicast traffic management, arbitration, and message queuing knowledge is highly regarded. 3+ years operating market data distribution platforms (e.g., RTDS: DACS, ADH, ADS components). 3+ years supporting time‑series frameworks such as kdb or shakti. Work setup On‑site in Houston, TX. Global team coverage; participation in an on‑call rotation required.
