ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse at a facility located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Unit Details

• Number of Beds: 25
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Staffing: The unit has around-the-clock mid-levels, trauma surgeons, and respiratory therapists. No LNA or PCT coverage is available. PT/OT services are available during day shifts.
• Type of Equipment: GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipaps, Puritan ventilators, and Hemospheres.
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling Requirements: 12 shifts per month (3 shifts a week) with 4 weekend shifts per month. The department leadership will accommodate requests for time off (RTO) while completing the schedule.
• Floating Policy: Travelers will float first on a rotation basis.
• Patient Experience Requirements: MyCare boards are updated during each shift with bedside reports completed at each change of shift.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Strong telemetry skills
• Experience in titrating vasoactive and inotrope medications
• Chest tube placement experience
• Past ICU experience

Preferred Skills:

• Open Heart experience
• Temporary pacing experience
• Swan-Ganz catheter experience

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Intubation
• Central line and arterial line placement
• Chest tube placement

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS

Dress Code

Scrubs (color does not matter).
