About the Role

Cup of Joe Cafes is looking for a friendly, guest-focused Barista to join our team at our Starbucks licensed store at Tanger Outlets in Asheville, NC. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this high-traffic shopping destination draws visitors and locals year-round - making it one of our most active locations. As a Barista, you are the face of the store and the heart of the guest experience. You will craft Starbucks beverages and food items to standard, keep your workspace running smoothly, and bring the warmth and energy that makes guests want to come back.

What You'll Do

• Craft Starbucks beverages and food items to recipe and brand standard on every order, every time

• Deliver a warm, welcoming experience that makes guests feel genuinely taken care of

• Keep your station clean, stocked, and ready to handle the rush

• Follow all food safety and handling procedures

• Support your shift lead and teammates - step in where needed, no questions asked

• Show up consistently and be a reliable, positive presence on the team

• Help train and welcome new team members as you grow in your role

• Stay curious about the menu, the craft, and the brand - the more you know, the better every interaction gets

Who You Are

• You're a people person - hospitality comes naturally to you, not from a script

• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and stay steady when the rush hits

• You take pride in getting the details right, whether it's a drink recipe or a clean counter

• You're dependable - your team and guests can count on you to show up and give your best

• You communicate well and work easily with teammates

• You don't mind the physical side of the role - standing, moving, and staying active for your whole shift

• Coffee or café experience is a plus but not required - we'll train you on everything you need to know

• You're looking to grow - we promote from within, and barista is where most of our leads started

• You're comfortable following Starbucks appearance standards (solid black top, black or khaki bottoms, slip-resistant shoes, apron provided) - full dress code shared at interview

$14 - $15/hr base pay + tips - total take-home depends on your location and tip volume

Requirements

• Must be 16 or older

• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs

• Available for a mix of morning, midday, and closing shifts including weekends

• Must be authorized to work in the United States

• Food handler certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
