Paragon Hydraulics is seeking a dependable and motivated Repair Technician to join our growing team in Chesapeake, VA. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills who enjoys hands-on work involving hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in both shop and field environments.

Responsibilities

·       Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams and manuals.

·       Inspect, remove, disassemble, repair, reassemble and test electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.

·       Perform installation, repair, overhaul or modifications in place or in shop to electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.

·       Assist in performing component and system troubleshooting to diagnose issues.

·       Assist with accomplishing pre-repair/pre-installation ship checks and initial reports.

·       Handle WAF submittal and coordination, project work package updates and quality assurance documentation, daily reports, inspections reports, condition reports and material identification as required by the project.

·       Travel to client ships and sites for service, repair, and certification

·       Perform hydraulic ram/cylinder overhauls

·       Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·       Must have High school diploma or GED.

·       Strong attention to detail and committed to safety standards.

·       Candidate must have at least two (2) years of relevant experience.

·       Physical ability to climb ladders, transit decks, and perform work on Navy vessels.

·       Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

·       Ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.

·       Self-starter with the ability to work well with others.

·       Comprehensive writing and communication skills.

·       Some knowledge of Microsoft Office.

·       Knowledge of Navy Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Electrical systems.

·       Must be able to obtain DBIDs pass and other clearances required to complete certain jobs.

·       Must be able to pass a background check.

·       Must have a current and valid driver's license.

·       Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

·       Comfortable using hand tools and shop equipment
