Provide exceptional care for patients in an outpatient orthopedic clinical setting. Write documentation on patient status per compliance guidelines of IBJI Rehab. Periodically communicate with supervising PT regarding assessment, plan and discharge, co-signed by PT. Frequent communication with supervising PT regarding appropriate patient progression, discharge and follow-up. Supervise Rehabilitation Technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed. Maintain daily paperwork, including documenting all treatment in patient charts in a timely manner. Stay current with billing policies and demonstrate ethical billing practices. Maintain active state license by earning appropriate CEU's through outside courses and IBJI-sponsored educational opportunities. Develop positive relationships with physical therapists and physician teams at IBJI. Take an active role in the patient medical team by facilitating relationships with PTs, MDs and case managers as directed by supervising PT. Participate in IBJI-sponsored programs including mentoring, clinical education, special interest groups, community outreach, etc. Requirements Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program. Holds current license to practice in Illinois. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Current CPR certification. Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds. Demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing. Ability to stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes.
