Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical inpatient nursing unit. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, including the management of occasional non-critical pediatric patients. The position requires the ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting.
• Monitor patient health and assess the need for changes to care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in patient education and support families in understanding health conditions.
• Float to different areas as necessary within the unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Ability to work day shifts, with flexibility to float between units.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, specifically MedHost.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Additional Information

Position duration is for 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6. Blocked scheduling arrangements may be accommodated, which should be noted in your application.

Location: Carlsbad, NM
