We're looking for an experienced environmental planning and permitting professional to join our team and lead high-profile projects throughout Wyoming and the Western United States.As a Senior Environmental Project Manager, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients while leading multidisciplinary teams through complex environmental review, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery processes. You'll play a key role in helping clients navigate regulatory requirements, manage project risk, and advance critical infrastructure and energy projects from planning through implementation.This position may be based in Denver, Colorado; Wyoming; Salt Lake City, Utah; or within a three-hour drive of Cheyenne, Wyoming, with flexibility to work in a hybrid environment.What You'll DoIn this role, you will:• Lead environmental permitting and planning efforts for complex infrastructure, energy, water, transportation, and community development projects.• Manage multidisciplinary project teams and provide overall project delivery leadership, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.• Prepare, review, and oversee complex federal, state, and local permitting packages and environmental documentation.• Serve as a primary client interface, building strong relationships and helping clients develop practical and strategic solutions to regulatory challenges.• Coordinate and negotiate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, tribal organizations, community groups, and partner agencies.• Lead stakeholder and community engagement activities, public meetings, workshops, and agency presentations.• Manage projects to client schedules, permitting milestones, and business objectives.• Conduct final QA/QC reviews to ensure deliverables align with regulatory requirements, client expectations, and Jacobs quality standards.• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff while fostering collaboration across technical disciplines.• Support business development initiatives, including proposal preparation, client account growth, and strategic pursuits.• Provide expert regulatory and permitting guidance across project lifecycles.• Contribute innovative and creative approaches to solving complex client issues and advancing project objectives.Key Responsibilities:• Environmental permitting strategy and execution.• Project and program management.• Staff leadership and resource management.• Regulatory coordination and agency consultation.• Technical review and quality assurance.• Public involvement and stakeholder engagement.• Proposal development and business development support.• Risk identification and mitigation planning.• Client relationship management.Why JacobsAt Jacobs, you'll work alongside industry-leading professionals on projects that make a meaningful impact in communities across the West and beyond. You'll have the opportunity to expand your expertise, mentor others, and help deliver sustainable solutions for our clients' most challenging projects.#LI-JM5 Here's what you'll need • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Planning, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, or a related field.• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental planning, permitting, consulting, and/or project management.• Experience with environmental permitting in Wyoming and/or managing complex state and federal environmental permitting efforts.• Demonstrated project management experience, including management of scope, schedule, budget, and multidisciplinary teams.• Experience preparing and managing environmental documentation and regulatory approvals for infrastructure, natural resource, or energy projects.• Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.• Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and diverse stakeholder groups.• Ability to reside in Denver, Colorado; Wyoming; Salt Lake City, Utah; or within a three-hour drive of Cheyenne, Wyoming.Ideally, you'll also have:• 10 to 20+ years of environmental planning, permitting, consulting, and/or project management experience.• Five or more years of Wyoming permitting experience.• Ten or more years of project management experience.• Experience supporting energy industry clients, including transmission, renewable energy, oil and gas, mining, or related sectors.• Experience managing environmental and socioeconomic studies.• Experience developing scopes of work, fee estimates, and successful proposals.• Experience managing and mentoring staff.• Demonstrated success preparing large, complex permitting packages for major projects.• Experience providing expert witness testimony in regulatory or public hearing settings.• Strong understanding of NEPA and other federal, state, and local environmental review processes.• Proven public speaking and presentation experience.• Experience leading stakeholder outreach and community engagement programs.• Professional certifications related to environmental planning, permitting, project management, or natural resources are a plus.Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
