Special Operations Physical Therapist - TEMP POSITION (Onsite Fort Bragg, NC) Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients with or without referrals. Refer patients to other POTFF staff members as needed. Perform neuro‑musculoskeletal injury care, including ordering of images, laboratory tests, pharmaceuticals, dry needling, acupuncture, joint injections and aspirations, and referrals to specialty providers. Directly supervise PT Tech, PT Assistant, and/or Certified Athletic Trainer within their scope of practice. Participate in periodic meetings with HP and POTFF to review care and identify opportunities for improvement. Serve as advisor to the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator in matters related to Sports Medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and relevant human performance research. Assist with administrative matters such as purchasing supplies, equipment, and fiscal requests. Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to keep the HP program current. Provide input for development and utilization of required databases. Conduct peer record reviews for HP Staff as directed. Assist in developing and updating job descriptions, performance standards, and clinical practice guidelines. Act as part of fiscal planning and maintain clinical consistency across HP Training Centers. Attend and participate in meetings with other POTFF staff members and medical providers as needed. Ensure safe and effective operation of patient care equipment and maintain a safe working environment. Participate in periodic in‑service training and attend required courses to meet continuing education units. Maintain 100% compliance with local mandatory command training requirements. Document care and work in the Military’s Electronic Health Record and/or HP Enterprise‑wide database. Perform other tasks, collect and report data, and utilize computers and technologies as per HP program requirements. Required Education, Experience, and Skills U.S. Citizenship. Secret Clearance or Top Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain clearance. Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Certification through ABPTS as an OCS or SCS, or NATA as a certified athletic trainer (ATC). Maintain credentialing requirements in good standing at the local MTF. Capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF (hike over rough terrain, function in austere environments, observe SOF training evolutions), and able to lift and manipulate loads up to 25kg. Minimum five (5) years of demonstrable experience in manual therapy in sports medicine with individual and group athletes (preferably collegiate, Olympic, professional, or SOF operators). Fluent oral and written communication skills in English. Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) from the American Heart Association. Desired Education, Experience, and Skills Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Prior military and/or SOF experience.
