The Veterinary Assistant will support the daily operations of a small animal clinic by assisting veterinarians and technicians in providing excellent care to pets. This role involves preparing treatment areas, handling animals with care, and ensuring a clean and organized environment to facilitate medical procedures and client interactions.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with clinical tasks and animal care
- Prepare and sanitize examination and treatment areas
- Handle and restrain small animals safely and compassionately
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Support client communication and customer service efforts
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment
- Ensure compliance with clinic sanitation and safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in veterinary assistance
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Animal handling skills
- Basic medical knowledge related to veterinary care
- Experience with record management
- Strong customer service abilities
- Collaborative teamwork skills
- Attention to detail
