Physical Therapist Position
This full-time Physical Therapist role is a 37.5-hour-per-week position for the 20262027 school year, serving students in a public school district centered around West Rutland, Vermont. You will provide evaluations, direct treatment, and consultative services to PreK12 students, develop educationally relevant PT goals, and participate as a key member of IEP teams. The district is known for its close-knit, supportive culture and highly collaborative Special Education Department, where PTs, OTs, SLPs, special educators, and school psychologists work together to design comprehensive, student-centered plans. Related service providers' input is valued in decision-making, and new staff benefit from approachable administrators, collegial teams, and an inclusive mindset that emphasizes evidence-based practice, professional growth, and shared problem-solving. Staff appreciate the balance of professional autonomy and strong team support, as well as the chance to build lasting relationships with students and families. West Rutland and the Greater Rutland area offer an appealing lifestyle with short commutes, four-season outdoor recreation, and a growing food, drink, and arts scene in nearby Rutland, including local restaurants, cafs, breweries, and live music venues. The region provides a variety of housing optionsfrom in-town apartments and multi-family homes to single-family houses and more rural settingswith rental availability in and around Rutland and neighboring towns. While Vermont's overall costs have risen, this area often remains more attainable than many larger metropolitan or resort markets, making it attractive to professionals looking for a welcoming community, access to nature, and a relaxed but vibrant small-city environment.
