ATCO STRUCTURES AND LOGISTICS (USA) INC. (“ASL-USA”) is seeking a Make Ready Technician for our Space Rentals Branch in Houston. This position is responsible for keeping the grounds and modular buildings maintained using necessary equipment as well as keeping machinery and other equipment in good operating condition.

• Provide general maintenance and overall preparation of modular building lease fleet.
• Conduct thorough inspections of modular units to assess maintenance and repair needs.
• Painting walls, ceilings, and trims
• Repairing or replacing fixtures such as faucets, light fixtures, and cabinet hardware.
• Patching and repairing drywall and minor carpentry work.
• Troubleshooting and fixing minor electrical and plumbing issues.
• Repairing or replacing flooring as needed.
• Check locks and keys, re-key if necessary.
• Check weather stripping, replace/repair, if necessary.
• Ensure modular units are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before deployment to customer site.
• Cleaning windows, blinds, and window sills.
• Deep cleaning bathrooms and kitchens including appliances.
• Vacuuming and steam cleaning carpets.
• Sweeping and mopping floors.
• Removing trash and debris.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any additional notes related to the condition of the modular unit.
• Communicate effectively with yard manager to ensure timely completion of make-ready tasks.
• Perform service-related tasks in the sales yard, as requested.
• Perform service calls at the customer site, as requested. Some travel required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE

• 0-2 Years’ experience with general labor, general repairs, or mechanical work.
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Proven experience in general maintenance and repair work, preferably in residential and multi-family settings.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and welding techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment is a must.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must
• Valid Driver's license is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Position requires nearly constant physical activity, including the ability to walk and stand for extended periods, at least 8 hrs a day.
• Position requires regular use of hands/arms with ability to reach and grab, at least 8 hrs a day.
• Constant ability to speak/hear and use specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, at least 8 hrs a day.
• Requires frequent and regular handling (lift or carry) of objects up to fifty (50) pounds, 2-5 hrs a day.
• Position may require occasional need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; climb or balance 2-5 hrs a day.

• Work environment is primarily outside and involves moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which will require following basic safety precautions and ability to wear assigned and appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
• Position may require that the employee work long hours, up to twelve (12) hours per day.
