Actuarial Modeling Manager

Acumen is partnering with a P&C Insurtech looking for a hands-on modeling leader to build and scale homeowners insurance models that drive smarter pricing, underwriting, and growth decisions. This role blends deep actuarial and data science expertise with people leadership and strong cross-functional partnership. Responsibilities Lead and grow a high-impact team focused on homeowners insurance modeling across pricing, underwriting, claims, and growth Define and execute modeling strategy with emphasis on loss cost, demand forecasting, and weather-driven risk Own expected loss models, including frequency, severity, and catastrophe components, supporting data-driven pricing decisions Drive model lifecycle management, including validation, refresh cadence, documentation, and governance Partner with engineering and product teams to deploy models into production and support reliable data pipelines Establish model monitoring and performance tracking to continuously improve forecast accuracy and business outcomes Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and strong business partnership Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, or similar. 7+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or actuarial modeling within personal lines P&C insurance; 3+ years of people management Strong background in loss cost modeling; experience with demand, underwriting, or claims modeling is a plus Solid understanding of actuarial principles related to insurance pricing Python and SQL; experience building scalable analytical workflows #J-18808-Ljbffr Acumen Group
