PART-TIME FIREARM EXAMINER / TECHNICAL REVIEWER
(INTERMITTENT PROFESSIONAL I)
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Hourly Rate: $37.45 per hour This is an intermittent 5‑10 hours per week position. This is a part‑time position with no fringe benefits. Primary Job Description Verify and technically review firearm physical comparison cases and reports, including the examination and comparison of bullets, bullet fragments, cartridge cases, firearms, and related evidence. Perform technical reviews of other firearm‑related cases, including serial number restorations, functionality examinations, and firearm measurements. Examine and analyze physical evidence from criminal cases and prepare laboratory reports through complex forensic examinations related to firearms identification. Prepare reports and records on all verifications, reviews, and examinations of evidence, including descriptions of weapons or ammunition, results of test firings, comparisons, and other forensic examinations.
