Associate Veterinarian

Introduction
With AAHA accreditation and Fear Free Certification at the heart of its approach to patient care, this full-service veterinary hospital in Concord, California is looking to welcome a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Caring for dogs and cats, the practice has been part of the local community since 1956 and has grown from a small one-doctor hospital into a modern facility with a broad medical, diagnostic and surgical offering. There's a nice balance between maintaining the personal relationships of a community practice and having the clinical resources and experienced team needed to work through a varied General Practice caseload.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of cases across preventive medicine, diagnostics, treatment planning, surgery and dentistry. You'll work closely with the experienced veterinarians, technicians and support staff around you, with daily case rounds encouraged where possible and a strong emphasis on maintaining high clinical standards throughout a patient's journey from intake through to discharge. Client communication is equally important, with the hospital looking for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships with owners and helping them understand the options available for their pets. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian, with at least one year of veterinary practice experience required, alongside strong diagnostic, surgical and dental skills. Flexible scheduling is available, giving you some scope to shape the working pattern around what works best for you.

Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA-accredited and Fear Free Certified and provides a full scope of GP services, with comprehensive dentistry, surgery and diagnostic medicine available within the practice. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Ultrasound and an In-House Laboratory with bloodwork, urinalysis and fecal testing capabilities, alongside an In-House Pharmacy. The hospital moved into its current facility in 2012, more than doubling its previous square footage and creating a more modern, patient-friendly clinical environment. The practice is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays.

Team
You'll currently be joining an established 4-DVM team, working alongside Registered Veterinary Technicians and a wider group of experienced support professionals. There's a particularly strong emphasis on reducing fear, anxiety and stress for patients while maintaining high standards of medicine, and the support team brings experience from both General Practice and Emergency and Critical Care environments. With several veterinarians already within the hospital, there are plenty of people to bounce ideas off, discuss cases with and learn from, while the emphasis on local medical autonomy means you'll still have the independence to take ownership of your patients and develop your own approach to practice.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
