Summary

A long-standing and respected general contractor is seeking a Project Executive to lead multiple building construction projects while helping expand market share within the central New York area. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who excels in both project delivery and strategic business development. The selected candidate will act as a key figure in client relations, operational oversight, and team mentorship—helping to maintain and grow the firm's reputation for excellence in safety, quality, and innovation.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone with the skills to drive large-scale commercial construction projects while fostering strong partnerships and building the firm’s regional presence.

Key Responsibilities  

• Provide executive oversight for multiple construction projects from preconstruction through close-out

• Cultivate and grow client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for high-level project discussions

• Drive business development efforts to secure new opportunities and expand presence in the Central NY region

• Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to evaluate pursuits and ensure cost competitiveness

• Lead internal teams, mentoring project managers, superintendents, and junior staff for long-term development

• Guide execution strategies around cost control, scheduling, subcontractor performance, and quality assurance

• Represent the company at industry events, agency meetings, and key client presentations

• Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and performance across all active projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)

• Minimum of 12+ years of construction experience with 8+ in a senior leadership role managing complex commercial projects

• Proven ability to oversee projects ranging from $5M to $50M+, with expertise in scheduling, contracts, and budget management

• Demonstrated success in both operations leadership and client-facing business development

• Strong knowledge of building systems, jobsite logistics, permitting, and construction best practices

• Proficiency in construction management tools such as Procore, MS Project, and Microsoft Office

• Experience mentoring teams and developing high-performance cultures

• Local market knowledge and relationships in the Syracuse/Central NY area are a plus
