Line-Cook Position at The Lodge at Whitefish LakeThe Lodge at Whitefish Lake, one of Montana's AAA Four Diamond resorts, is seeking a Line-Cook to work with our food and beverage team at $21-$25 hourly DOE. The Hotel is one of several family-owned businesses under Averill Hospitality.Principal Responsibilities and Position PurposeAs a line cook you will be responsible for stocking and setting up the station. Preparing food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooking food items by grilling, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesAcquiring directions from supervisor and retaining information received.Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations.Preparing food includes cleaning and cutting the ingredients, cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.Plating prepared foods based on senior chefs' guidance.Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.Ensure all equipment is kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking equipment at the end of work shifts.Full understanding of, and follow, all regulations that pertain to health and safety.Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and AbilityKnowledge of Food and Beverage, Local and State Food Handling laws and procedures.Must be organized and detail oriented.Must be a strong team player with a hospitality first mindset.Desire to provide phenomenal guest experiences, a passion for quality, and attention to detail.Strong communication skills with the ability to foster cooperation.Ability to build strong relationships and work with a team of culinary professionalsQualification StandardsEducationPreference for a previous cooking experienceExperience/ Licenses or CertificatesMinimum of 2 years of experience in a restaurant or related field assets.The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, part of Averill Hospitality, offers full time, year-round employment, competitive compensation, and a full benefits package including paid holidays, paid time off, insurance, 401(k) match, and company discounts at Averill Hospitality properties.Averill Hospitality provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
