Adjunct Instructor, EMS (CPR)

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach American Heart Association courses. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Responsibilities: Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment Grades and returns student work in a timely manner Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom Attends professional development opportunities when possible Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationship with students, peers, supervisors and staff Working knowledge of MS Office products Requirements: Credentialed as an American Heart Association instructor, or equivalent Preferences: Associate’s degree Essential Personnel: TBD #J-18808-Ljbffr Wake Technical Community College
