Electrical Engineer

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Electrical Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite in Clayton, North Carolina. This is a 24-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $49.00/hour + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay). Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, validation, and introduction of electrical and electronic systems for Caterpillar's current and future machine platforms. This role is involved throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle, including requirements development, FMEA, design, testing, validation, certification, and production support. The ideal candidate has experience designing mobile electrical systems, developing wiring harnesses and schematics, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams in the heavy equipment or automotive industry. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and validate electrical equipment, components, and systems for current production and future machine platforms. Design component installations and develop wiring harness routing for mobile equipment. Create and maintain electrical schematics and electrical system documentation. Support every phase of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including requirements capture, FMEA, design, development, testing, validation, and certification. Evaluate design cost, reliability, safety, and manufacturability. Perform simulations and testing to verify machine and electrical system performance. Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, assembly planning, suppliers, and product support teams throughout the product lifecycle. Visit machine test and manufacturing areas to evaluate and troubleshoot designs on equipment. Investigate vendor products and support engineering change activities as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Mechanical, Agricultural, Automotive, or related engineering discipline). 5–7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience. Experience designing electrical and electronic systems for mobile equipment applications. Strong experience with Creo Cabling, Creo Schematics, and Teamcenter. Experience creating and maintaining electrical schematics and wiring harness designs.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills. Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and external suppliers. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the automotive, construction, agricultural, aerospace, aviation, or other mobile equipment industries. Hands‑on experience with hydraulic, engine, and transmission systems. Experience with Caterpillar engineering data systems (EDS) and product data management. Previous involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. Relevant internship experience may be considered toward overall experience requirements.
