Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00)

Experience:
Must have critical care experience to work in a high-volume emergency room environment.
Preference for at least one year of travel experience.

License:
Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
Pending license accepted, with a 90-day temporary authorization needed for processing.

Certifications:
BLS
ACLS
Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
CRT not accepted.

Must-Have:
Critical care experience in a high-stakes emergency room environment, serving neurotrauma, cardiovascular services, and medical/surgical ICU patients.
Proficient in administering various aerosol and medication delivery systems.
Competent in arterial blood gas interpretation and ventilator management, including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms.

Description:
The Respiratory Therapist will provide critical care in a fast-paced emergency room.
Experience with neurotrauma, cardiovascular services, and ICU patients is essential.
Skills in aerosol and medication delivery systems, including masks and tracheostomies, are necessary.
The therapist will administer medications like Albuterol, Atrovent, and inhaled steroids.
Ventilator management experience, including weaning from mechanical ventilation, is required.
The therapist will perform airway management techniques, including extubation and suctioning.
They will also be skilled in oxygen therapy and various nebulizer setups.
The position requires adherence to protocols for assess and treat strategies in ventilator management.
The therapist will float to different areas as needed, maintaining flexibility within their skillset.
A critical understanding of equipment, including Servo ventilators and high-flow systems, is vital.
Weekend and holiday shifts are required throughout the contract duration.
