Role Summary We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our Sales Engineering team and serve as the primary technical resource for pre-sales estimation and client engagement. In this role, you will translate customer RFQs and project specifications into accurate, competitive budgetary proposals for our panel systems, doors, and windows — covering pharmaceutical cGMP, battery and EV, semiconductor, and other advanced manufacturing environments. You will interact directly with clients, general contractors, MEP engineers, and architects to clarify scope, refine specifications, and position Dagard USA's solutions effectively. You are not expected to produce fully engineered shop drawing-level estimates at this stage; rather, you will develop credible pre-construction-level take-offs that enable customers to budget and move projects forward, and that allow the sales team to close opportunities with confidence. Annual salary range $85,000 to $90,000 plus performance bonus Key Responsibilities RFQ Estimation & Proposal Development Review and interpret project RFQs, specifications, architectural drawings, and construction documents to identify scope of supply for Dagard wall panels, ceiling panels, doors, and windows. Develop pre-construction budgetary estimates with sufficient accuracy to support client go/no-go decisions and internal pricing strategy. Prepare and issue formal quotations, including product line-ups, quantities, lead-time commitments, and applicable exclusions or assumptions. Collaborate with the internal engineering and project management teams to validate technical feasibility and pricing inputs. Support the Sales Manager in finalizing and delivering the formal quotation to the client. Client & Partner Engagement Serve as the technical point of contact for clients, construction managers, architects, and MEP consultants during the pre-sales and proposal phase. Conduct virtual meetings to walk through project requirements, answer technical questions, and refine the scope of supply. Identify upsells and substitution opportunities (e.g., panel type, finish, door hardware, window configurations) that better match the project's regulatory and operational requirements. Represent Dagard USA at pre-bid conferences, industry events, and trade shows as needed. Pipeline & CRM Discipline Maintain accurate opportunity tracking in the CRM system, including project status, estimated value, and probability. Report on bid activity, win/loss trends, and market feedback to the Director of Sales Engineering. Coordinate with the sales team to prioritize estimation effort based on strategic fit and probability of award. Technical Knowledge & Qualifications Required 3–8 years of experience in construction estimating, pre-sales technical support, or sales engineering in a building envelope, specialty construction, or controlled-environment sector. Working knowledge of cleanroom or controlled-environment construction: panel systems, curtain walls, doors, windows, HVAC/pressurization principles, and applicable standards (ISO 14644, EU GMP Annex 1, FDA cGMP, IEST). Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, construction specifications (CSI format), and MEP coordination documents. Proficiency with take-off and estimation tools (Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, or equivalent); familiarity with Excel-based cost models. Strong client-facing communication skills — comfortable presenting technical information to both engineering and executive audiences. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent bid deadlines. Exceptional attention to detail and a track record of delivering accurate estimates — errors in pre-construction pricing have downstream consequences, and we need someone who owns that standard. Disciplined about deadlines: bid windows are fixed, and the team depends on timely turnaround to stay competitive. Consistent and reliable — clients and colleagues should know what to expect from you; repeatability in process and follow-through is as important as technical knowledge. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, mechanical or civil engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Preferred Exposure to one or more of Dagard's target verticals: pharmaceutical / biotech cGMP, battery / EV gigafactory, semiconductor fab, or food & beverage / cold storage. Experience with insulated metal panel (IMP) or modular cleanroom panel products. Familiarity with BIM coordination workflows and Revit.
