Learn more at actionforchildren.org.What You’ll DoThe Engagement Specialist supports our Central Intake program, the entry point into the Help Me Grow system of supports sponsored by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY). You will work directly with families to understand their needs, determine eligibility, and connect them to the right resources.Responsibilities include:Process incoming calls and connect families to home visiting programs by determining eligibility and assigning referralsConduct real-time data entry into DCY databases with a 95% or higher accuracy rateAnswer agency phone lines with a consistent, positive, and helpful demeanorListen actively to families and process applications with empathy and patienceStay current on state and local resources, policy updates, and service changesFollow up with referral sources and maintain complete, accurate documentationScan and distribute completed referralsParticipate in team and all-staff meetingsWhat We’re Looking ForAbility to build rapport with families from diverse backgrounds and culturesUnderstanding of early childhood development and socio-emotional principlesExperience working with economically diverse or underserved populationsProven ability to maintain accurate, timely records and meet reporting expectationsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn proprietary databasesStrong customer service skills with a professional communication styleSelf-motivation and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentDesired but not required:Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Business, or related fieldBilingual (English/Spanish)You’ll Thrive Here IfYou enjoy helping families navigate resources in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
