(Subject to Budget Availability) Position Centrally Funded Attendance Teacher (One Year Position) Position Summary This is a Full-Time position. The work year is a 10- month period, September through June 28, 2027. As a part of the superintendent's team, the superintendent or designee will be your immediate supervisor, provide day-to-day support and direction and assign a workspace in a district office; a school in the district in which you support in the district. Location Citywide, New Visions HS District, Superintendent Noah Angeles Eligibility Requirements New York City Public Schools licensed Attendance Teacher Selection Criteria Ability to work with parents and chronically absent students Ability to conduct outreach visits to homes Ability to work with ATS, and Microsoft Office applications Ability to generate and use data to improve attendance in schools Ability to create attendance and intervention plans for chronically absent students Duties/Key Responsibilities Conduct telephone outreach to home of absent students Make home visits as assigned in the 5 boroughs Document all outreach as assigned, complete all program paperwork as directed including ATS entries and ILOG Work collaboratively with school staff in identifying and addressing the needs of chronically absent students Work collaboratively with central staff and identifying and addressing the needs of chronically absent students Hours/Work Year Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. inclusive of a half hour lunch Application Process Executive Director of School Support and Operations, New Visions HS District The Department of Education of the City of New York is an inclusive equal opportunity employer committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce and providing a work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment upon any legally protected status or protected characteristic, including but not limited to an individual's actual or perceived sex, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or pregnancy.
