Responsibilities As a Cloud Developer Principal, you will support customer mission objectives by designing, developing, integrating, securing, and sustaining cloud-based applications and services. You will collaborate with multi-discipline teams to build scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions that enhance enterprise operations. In this role, you will:
- Develop, integrate, and maintain cloud-hosted applications and services
- Build elastic, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud solutions using modern cloud architectures
- Automate deployment pipelines and infrastructure using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Translate customer and stakeholder requirements into cloud-based technical solutions
- Migrate legacy on-premise systems to cloud environments using established patterns and automation tools
- Integrate cloud applications with identity, authentication, authorization, and directory services
- Ensure solutions adhere to cloud and cybersecurity best practices including zero-trust, RBAC, and secure configuration guidelines
- Support cloud operations, troubleshooting, sustainment, and continuous improvement activities
- Participate in cloud architecture, design, and modernization discussions
- Maintain documentation for cloud environments, deployments, and configurations
- Brief leadership and stakeholders on cloud development activities, risks, and planned enhancements
- Provide training, user guides, and knowledge transfer for newly delivered cloud capabilities
- Monitor emerging cloud technologies and proposing enhancements to improve efficiency, reliability, and security
- Lead cloud development tasks, supporting project milestones, and performing hands-on coding, testing, and deployment
- Execute approved cloud strategies and fostering productive relationships across teams to deliver resilient cloud services
- Understanding of DoW and Air Force Special Operations
- Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework viewpoints
- Experience developing, integrating, or sustaining applications in cloud environments (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP acceptable)
- Strong working knowledge of cloud services such as: Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, Containerization (Docker), AWS CLI, CloudFormation, Ansible Playbooks
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation using tools such as: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions
- Experience with identity and directory services including: Active Directory, Identity Access Management and federation tools, Keycloak, Red Hat SSO, PKI / certificates
- Strong understanding of Linux (RHEL) and Windows operating systems
- Experience developing cloud components using modern programming or scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Ability to troubleshoot cloud applications across development, testing, and production environments
- Experience with configuration management, version control, and code repositories (GitLab, GitHub)
- Experience implementing secure cloud configurations aligned with RMF, STIGs, SCAP, and DevSecOps principles
- Ability to create and maintain cloud system documentation, diagrams, baseline configurations, deployment artifacts, and user guides
- Ability to work independently as well as within collaborative team environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to research and communicate solutions effectively
- Must have a SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI (TS/SCI)
