Inpatient / Outpatient Pharmacist

Trifecta Proven is recruiting for Pharmacists to provide services at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX . Pharmacists can rotate between any ambulatory pharmacy or inpatient pharmacy to accommodate staffing needs. This opening is an excellent opportunity to make an impact on the lives of our nation's service members.

Hours: Average 40 hours per week. Shifts range from 8-12 hours per day and includes a 30 or 60 minute lunch. Pharmacists will support facility Sunday through Saturday. Pharmacists can be scheduled day or night shifts.

Duties:

• Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize drug therapy.
• Determines type of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy standing operating procedures (SOPs).
• Receives and reviews prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals to include controlled drugs on the formulary.
• Performs advanced pharmaceutical calculations in the manufacture of intravenous admixtures and complex parental nutrition solutions dealing with body surface area and creatine clearance rate formulas.
• Obtains the pharmaceutical, prepares package labels, visually inspects the medication in the bottle to be dispensed, and verifies appropriate medication, checks the printed label affixed to the container against the original prescription for correctness.
• Reviews and interprets medication orders to inpatients to ensure dosage, route, frequency, potential interactions, and allergies have been screened.
• Performs medication distributive functions, including, but not limited to, preparation and/or verification of medications, labelling, compounding, and dispensing.
• Follows established procedures and protocols concerning quality assurance monitoring, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous medications.
• Participates in orientation, instruction and training of pharmacy technicians, residents, pharmacists, and other health professionals.
• May be identified per shift as a Code Responder and will respond to Code Blues during a particular shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree/Education: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
• Equivalency Determination Request: The Contractor shall not request an equivalency determination as a substitute for education requirements on this labor category.
• Certifications: Shall hold Basic Life Support (BLS). Trifecta can help candidate obtain this if not already certified.
• Board Certification: None
• Licensure:. Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist.
• Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of inpatient pharmacy experience within the past two (2) years post-graduation.
• Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

Note: Offered salary will be dependent on experience, credentials and overall interview evaluation.
