• Schedule: 12-hour shifts; on-call as needed per unit procedures

• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience

• BSN: Not required

• License to Submit: Yes

• Active AK RN License: Required

 

Required Certifications

• Advanced Fetal Monitoring

• BLS Certification

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

• STABLE

• COVID-19 vaccination required

 

Primary Responsibilities

The RN will manage individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing in accordance with hospital policies, departmental procedures, and professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to labor and delivery patients.

• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes.

• Perform and document patient assessments and interventions.

• Support labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care as assigned.

• Utilize fetal monitoring and other unit-specific equipment safely and effectively.

• Administer medications and treatments according to hospital policy.

• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

• Follow infection-control, medication-safety, and patient-safety standards.

• Provide patient and family education and support throughout the childbirth experience.

• Participate in unit procedures, call coverage, and other assigned duties.
