Technical Specialist PositionsBHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity as a Technical Specialist I, Technical Specialist II, or Sr Technical Specialist at our Groveport, OH location or at our Crayne Compressor Station in Waynesburg, PA.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Specialist I:Provide technical support to Operations to promote quality and efficient compression operationsUnderstand and interpret compressor performance curves and determine if a more efficient practice is availableProvide technical support to Technicians, Specialists, Engine Mechanics, and Contractors to ensure proper assembly and ensure maintenance policies and procedures are being adhered to during equipment installation and maintenance processesSupport system hardware and software for real time horsepower systems, high pressure fuel systems, auto balance systems, other control systems, emission control systems, and communication systems related to reciprocating engines/compressors and auxiliary generatorsProvide technical support to operations on reciprocating gas engines (including auxiliary generators) and compressors during maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and failure investigation activitiesDevelop, standardize, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, work procedures, installation procedures, and training manualsDevelop and conduct training classes as requiredSupport Project Teams, Operations, and other Engineering Groups on the development, review, and interpretation of pulsation and vibration studies as they pertain to Compressor StationsProvide support in the engineering, construction, installation, startup, and commissioning of natural gas reciprocating engines/compressors and electric driven reciprocating compressorsManage multiple issues, projects, and initiatives within area of responsibilitySupport Engineering and Operations in the completion of annual projectsLead all aspects of capital projects to include developing and managing the budget, opening the project, placing the project in service, closing the project, developing the work scope, selecting contractors, working with Supply Chain as needed for contractor bidding, developing and managing the schedule, and providing technical supportRepresent company as a member of external technical committees and organizations, including involvement as company representative at industry meetings and conferences (GMRC & PRCI) as requested by leadershipTechnical Specialist II: In addition to the responsibilities listed for Technical Specialist I, the Technical Specialist II will:Serve at the intermediate and fully proficient level in the Technical Specialist seriesBe distinguished from the Technical Specialist I by increased complexity in the application of technical and engineering skills and knowledgeSr Technical Specialist: In addition to the responsibilities listed for Technical Specialist II, the Sr Technical Specialist will:Serve as the top progression level in the Technical Specialist seriesBe distinguished from the Technical Specialist 2 by the increased complexity in the application of technical and engineering skills and knowledgeQualificationsTechnical Specialist I:0-2+ years of relevant experience and competencies in applicable disciplineBasic knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and practicesAbility to learn and successfully apply basic knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the disciplineAbility to learn and design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the disciplineEffective oral, written, and graphical communication skills required, including basic technical writing skillsAbility to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experimentsAbility to function as a member on a technical teamOrganizational skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasksBasic knowledge of computers, keyboarding skills, and the use of Microsoft Office programs and applicable software programsDemonstrates questioning attitude, technical literatureAbility to analyze and interpret results to improve processesAbility to function effectively independently and as a member on a technical teamOrganizational and project management skillsProficient personal computer skills, including knowledge of applicable software programsSr. Technical Specialist:In addition to the qualifications listed for the Technical Specialist II, the Sr Technical Specialist will possess the following:5+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated competencies in applicable disciplineIn-depth knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and practicesAbility to apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the disciplineAbility to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the disciplineEducation:Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)Preferred Degree:Biology, Chemistry, Computer Engineering,
