Overview At Call Your Mother we believe that great food is made even better with amazing service and having fun together. CYM is a neighborhood bagel shop and deli with locations in the DMV area, Colorado, Chicago, and Philadelphia on the way. We’re hiring a General Manager in Denver. At CYM we consider our GMs to be the CEO of their shop, overseeing kitchen operations, front-of-house service, team development, and overall profitability. The GM is guest-, food-, and team-focused, a quick thinker, a strong communicator, and a motivator who leads by example and holds the team accountable for performance and product output through our CYM Values (VIBES). This role requires comfortable work across multiple Denver-area locations. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the shop—from opening to service to closing—at the highest level Proactively solve problems and maintain the shop’s best, most efficient capacity Manage and lead supervisors and team members to provide the best service with CYM VIBES in mind Work with supervisors to create a positive, efficient work environment for the team Maintain high operational standards by following checklists, recipe specs, and standardized tools Manage maintenance and upkeep of equipment and the shop’s surroundings (trash, linens, deep cleaning, storage organization) Uphold ServeSafe food safety standards and shop safety Oversee food and beverage management, including inventory, ordering, and budget related to food, beverage, and labor goals Recruiting, hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations of team members Scheduling to ensure shifts and roles are covered; as needed, be on-call to address issues Work in the shop five days a week and be available on weekends Must have transportation to travel between multiple CYM locations in the DMV Company Core Values & Expectations V ibrant – You are abundantly happy, fun, passionate, playful, and kind I ntegrity – You are honest, caring, real, and take pride in doing the right thing B elonging – You work as a team to make people feel welcome E nergy – You are active, proactive, and make things happen S eize the Moment – You make the most of every guest opportunity by saying yes, trying new things, and being original You’ll be a great addition to the CYM team if you: Have 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant management role Understand P&L, COGS, decision making, process improvement, labor/scheduling, training & team development, and food quality standards Have ServeSafe Manager’s Food Safety Certification Can coordinate multiple tasks such as food and labor costs while maintaining standards Are hospitality-oriented with a passion for the guest experience Believe in a hands-on management style and lead by example Take initiative and think of the big picture Maintain a high-energy, positive can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment Treat others with kindness and respect Are a team player who is willing to help others Work calmly and effectively under pressure and solve problems Communicate clearly and efficiently with proven coaching and leadership skills for a diverse staff Can work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays You’ll love working at CYM because: Starting salary: $70,000 with a 20% bonus opportunity Growth and development opportunities as CYM expands A supportive, positive culture with a team that celebrates wins and keeps things fun Great benefits for full-time staff (health, dental, vision; 401k with 4% employer match; paid vacation and parental leave; EAP; staff meals; wellness benefits; language classes and more) No night shifts; morning and afternoon hours support work-life balance Equal Opportunity We provide equal opportunities to everyone who works for us and every applicant.
