Poultry Quality Assurance Lead

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily execution of food safety and quality systems on the production floor
• Perform all QA Technician duties, including monitoring process controls, GMPs, sanitation, and personnel practices
• Collect samples for microbiological and chemical testing
• Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions when deviations occur
• Monitor employee compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs
• Document, monitor, and analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products, packaging materials, and manufacturing processes
• Lead incident and complaint investigations, verifying the effectiveness of preventive and corrective actions
• Conduct routine and non-routine quality audits, including GMP, document, CAPA verification, process assessments, and HACCP
• Oversee and ensure completion of quality improvement projects
• Collaborate with USDA FSIS inspection staff and plant management teams
• Serve as backup in the absence of the QA Supervisor

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing facility, or a college degree in a related science field
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with upper management
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist others
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to meet assigned work schedules and comply with time and attendance policies
• Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures
• Must be able to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally without assistance, and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Comfortable working in cold, wet, and loud production and warehouse environments with required PPE
