Sr. Accountant

Job Description Job Description We are looking for an accomplished Senior Accountant to join a finance team in Denver, Colorado. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting timely close activities, and strengthening the integrity of day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge along with hands-on experience across core accounting areas such as reconciliations, reporting, and revenue-related processes. Responsibilities: • Lead monthly accounting operations by preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, and helping deliver accurate period-end close results. • Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving inconsistencies, and ensuring balances are properly supported. • Administer inventory accounting processes, including valuation reviews, account tie-outs, and analysis of variances affecting financial results. • Oversee fixed asset records by managing additions, depreciation, retirements, and related schedule rollforwards. • Record and evaluate revenue transactions in alignment with established accounting guidance and organizational policy. • Complete bank account reconciliations each month and research outstanding items to resolve discrepancies promptly. • Prepare financial statements and related supporting schedules for internal review and reporting needs. • Provide audit support by organizing documentation, responding to inquiries, and maintaining records for compliance purposes. • Review financial trends and account activity to identify risks, explain variances, and recommend process improvements. • Collaborate with operational and business partners to support financial accuracy and broader organizational initiatives.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline. • Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for full-cycle accounting activities. • Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation. • Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet support schedules. • Familiarity with inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, and revenue recognition practices. • Ability to prepare and review financial statements with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Understanding of internal controls, audit support requirements, and accounting policy compliance. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate variances and improve processes.
