Neurology Physician-Scientist Faculty Position in the Genetics of Cognitive Disorders and Dementia

Job Details Employment Type: Permanent Faculty Vacancy ID: FAC0005375 Salary: Commensurate with experience Position Summary Full-time tenure-track, research-emphasis clinician-scientist faculty in the Departments of Neurology and Genetics at UNC-Chapel Hill, with rank of assistant, associate, or full professor based on experience and eligibility. Responsibilities Conduct high-impact research on neurodegeneration, focusing on dementia genetics, including non-Mendelian genetics, age-associated somatic variations, and epigenetics. Develop and maintain an extramurally-funded research program. Participate in training of students, postdoctoral researchers, residents, and fellows. Engage in clinical activity in the Department of Neurology at a level permitted by research support. Utilize UNC core facilities, research participant samples from NIH consortia, genomics infrastructure, and computational resources. Qualifications Demonstrated scientific excellence in genetics, cognitive disorders, or related fields. Track record of securing extramural funding. Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Commitment to training and mentoring of graduate students and postdocs. Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
