Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Department Nurse, Tacoma, WA This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a Level II Trauma Center with a high-volume obstetrics unit. The position requires managing high-acuity obstetric patients, including deliveries, preterm labor, and postpartum care, with a focus on full recovery of mother and baby after delivery.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN); high acuity labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients; ability to triage OB patients; circulate in OR; cervical checks; reading/interpreting fetal monitoring strips; support staff including CNA 1, transports, restocking, assisting in OR, and instrument care; support on the unit includes EPIC experience.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Support on the Unit: CNA 1, transports, restocking, assists in OR, instrument care; scrub techs are LPN and NRP Certified; receptionists/HUC; charge nurse support; phlebotomy; resource RN; break nurses; RTs (24/7 support); laborist coverage 24/7; residents and fellows in house; call schedule is distributed nightly; no mandatory call requirements; may pick up open shifts.
• Orientation: Traditional hospital and unit orientation, including 6 shifts paired with a Charge Nurse, 1 day NEO orientation, and 2 days on the unit.
• Additional Information: Shift times are 7:00 AM 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM 7:30 AM; schedule cycles in 6-week increments; no guarantee of block scheduling; no floating for ANM; fair and equitable holiday expectations; RTO requests prior to contract approval; support within scope and experience within antepartum and postpartum areas with occasional additional assignments.
