Job Summary:
Respiratory Care Unit (LTAC) - in the city of New Britain, Connecticut. This role requires a registered nurse (RN) to provide care for a respiratory-focused patient population. The position involves night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with 36 hours per week, and candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. Prior travel experience is preferred.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour nights | 7:00 PM 7:30 AM | minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 1-2 years of RN experience, ideally with respiratory/vented patients; BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Additional Information: Experience with respiratory/vented patients is strongly preferred, but nurses do not manage ventilators (Respiratory Therapists handle vents). The unit focuses on ventialtor-dependent patients, with secondary responsibilities including IV starts, drips, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, complex and simple wound dressings, Trach care, suctioning, straight catheter, Foley care, port access, central line dressing, and wound measurements. The unit comprises a Respiratory Care Unit with 36 beds and a Respiratory Step-Down Unit with 38 beds. Staff may float to similar units such as Chronic Care Units, Traumatic Brain Injury Units, or Medically Complex Chronic Care units as needed.
